Workshop in Christchurch, New Zealand Compassionate Culture If you judge people, you have no time to love them. - Mother Teresa We all have the desire to live in harmony. Yet, we often communicate in ways that provoke defensiveness, resistance and counter-attack in others. How can we be honest about what another person does that we don't like and still create well-being in both of us? Compassionate communication, the language of the heart, provides opportunities to talk about what is going on for us without judging others. The four part process of compassionate communication, based on Marshall Rosenberg's concept of NVC (Nonviolent communication) is a useful tool. In theory, it is easy. Yet the application to daily life situations provides challenges. What makes it so difficult to apply this useful communication tool? What are the underlying processes? What are the challenges that need to be tackled in order to master this exquisite communication style? How can we develop compassionate culture, as a basis for our relationships. This workshop is of particular interest for people who work with people. It will be experiential with a limited number of participants. Come prepared to participate in a safe and encouraging environment. Facilitated by Mirjam Busch and Rudolf Jarosewitsch, Gestalt Therapy, MNZAC Both, Mirjam and Rudolf, have been working together as a couple with couples, individuals and in groups for the last 11 years. They have greatly benefited from living in conscious partnership and furthering their own personal growth alongside with their professional development. The concepts of NVC have been a part in their learning and discovery process. |
